Dulce de Leche Empanadas

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup dulce de leche store-bought or homemade
  • 10 empanada discs store-bought or homemade
  • 1 egg beaten

Instructions
 

  • Place a spoonful of dulce de leche onto each disc and fold the dough over, crimping the edges to seal in the filling. Bake the empanadas in the oven at 350°F for about 18-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

    • Top them with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness or coat them in cinnamon sugar right before baking.
    • If you can't find dulce de leche in stores, another similar option is cajeta, which is made with goat's milk and has a slightly tangier flavor.
    • If you can't find empanada discs, feel free to use store-bought puff pastry instead.
